Sense\u00a0and\u00a0EDMI<\/a> are collaborating to deliver next generation smart meters that will help accelerate the energy transition, engage customers and materially reduce the costs of running the energy system.<\/p>\n

Sense\u2019s real time home intelligence software, running on EDMI meters, will bring intelligence to the grid edge. These will be the first smart meters in the APAC and EMEA regions capable of sampling data at one million times a second (1MHz). With this unprecedented resolution, new and enhanced propositions are made possible: grid faults can be identified and localised with greater finesse; devices can be detected with superior precision; and utilities can further expand margins.<\/p>\n

The combination of higher resolution and real time intelligence at the grid edge will unlock substantive new opportunities for Sense and EDMI customers. Retailers will be able to offer engaging new services and energy insights to their customers, access domestic flexibility at scale, optimise power management across the home, and improve their power purchasing with detailed forecasting. Networks will benefit with real time grid edge insight (e.g. power quality) and the ability to identify and locate problems on the grid such as vegetation brush and corrosion. Most importantly, consumers will benefit from an engaging real-time application. They will be able to determine how much energy individual appliances consume in real time, save money on their bills and reduce their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

The rapid adoption of next generation smart meters will build intelligence into millions of homes.
