We hope you&#8217;ll check them out!<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>We&#8217;re\u00a0excited to announce our new integration for <a href=\"\/homes\/buy-monitor\/\">Sense<\/a> and your connected home: the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2rjxPm2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sense Skill for Alexa<\/a>. Now, energy insights are available with the sound of your voice, and Sense\u2019s <a href=\"\/consumer-blog\/why-sense-samples-at-high-frequency-your-oven-vs-your-dryer\/\">high-resolution energy metering<\/a> and analysis has just made your smart home even smarter!<\/p>\n<h3>How to activate the Sense Alexa skill<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect your Sense account to your Alexa account* through the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2rjxPm2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amazon Skills page on Amazon.com<\/a>, or through the Alexa app by enabling the skill and then clicking &#8220;Link Account&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Download the latest version of the <a href=\"\/homes\/download-app\/\">Sense Home app<\/a> to your iOS or Android device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to ask Alexa a question<\/h3>\n<p>For every Sense command, just start with \u201cAlexa, Ask Sense\u2026\u201d and follow it up with a question about power use, solar production, if a certain device is on right now, or when a certain device was last turned on. Here are some examples:<\/p>\n<p>You can ask Alexa about current power usage for your entire home:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAlexa, ask Sense how much electricity I\u2019m using.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have Sense Solar, you can ask about your solar production:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAlexa, ask Sense how much solar I\u2019m generating.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maybe that rain cloud means you should put off that load of laundry until the sun comes out!<\/p>\n<p>You can also inquire about the status specific devices in your home that have been recognized by Sense:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAlexa, ask Sense if my dryer is done.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAlexa, ask Sense if my Tesla is still charging.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAlexa, ask Sense if I left my oven on.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Or find out when certain devices turned on or off.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAlexa, ask Sense when my garage door closed.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAlexa, ask Sense when my furnace turned on.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the future, we\u2019re hoping to add support for historical data like \u201cAlexa, ask Sense how much electricity did we consume today\u201d, app notifications like \u201cAlexa, ask Sense to send me a notification when the Xbox turns on.\u201d, and maybe even daily briefings like \u201cAlexa, ask Sense how today\u2019s solar production compares to yesterday\u2019s\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What Alexa functions and other integrations would you like to see?
